The “Local Government Whisperer”
Allyson Brunette is a dynamic organizational development consultant and certified career coach, known for her innovative approach to local government. After growing up between New York and New Jersey, she moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2011and has become a passionate advocate for revitalizing community in her new hometown. With a decade of experience in downtown revitalization, community and economic development, Allyson was concerned about an increasing lack of civility, decline in volunteerism, and rising distrust in institutions like local government. She founded Allyson Brunette Consulting in 2021 to address these challenges and to positively influence the public sector from the outside looking in.
As a self-styled “local government whisperer,” Allyson specializes in transforming workplace cultures, enhancing community engagement, and leveraging technology for impactful local governance. She has earned accolades such as being named one of “20 Women to Know in Green Bay,” a “Future 15 Under 40 Young Professional,” and “Outstanding Young Alumna” by Rider University. Allyson’s insights have reached audiences through prominent platforms like Engaging Local Government Leaders, Wisconsin City/County Managers Association, National Main Street Conference, and Wisconsin Public Radio, among others.
Allyson Brunette is an experienced facilitator, people-connector, and idea generator. Since becoming certified in the Bryson Method of Strategic Planning in 2015, Allyson has helped two dozen + organizations with customized strategic planning exercises.
Allyson is an emerging thought leader in this space, and writes extensively for organizations focused on the future of government including: League of Wisconsin Municipalities, Engaging Local Government Leaders, International City/County Management Association, and the Thomson Reuters Institute.
Allyson speaks professionally on topics such as building strong workplace cultures, workforce attraction and retention, and next generation leadership.
